'Beverly Hills Pawn' Star Yossi Dina Secures Rare 1962 Beatles Contract
LOS ANGELES, May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ Yossi Dina, star of The ReelZ Channel's hit reality show, "Beverly Hills Pawn" and owner of The Dina Collection in Beverly Hills has added an extremely rare piece of Beatles memorabilia to his celebrated cache of collectibles. A signed, revised Management Agreement between The Beatles and their manager, Brian Esptein is dated October 1, 1962, four days before the release of the group's debut single, "Love Me Do."
The eight-page document of mimeographed typescript, is between NEMS Enterprises Ltd. (Brian Epstein's record store); Brian Epstein and The Artists: John Winston Lennon, George Harrison, James Paul McCartney and Richard Starkey and secondly, between Harold Hargreaves Harrison andJames McCartney, George and Paul's fathers, as their approval was necessary since both young men were under 21 years of age. Curiously, although this managerial contract was the second one to be drawn up between the Beatles and Brian Epstein and the second to be signed by all four members of the group, it was the first that Epstein himself signed. The first contract, dated January 24 th, 1962, accepting Epstein as the group's manager did not include Epstein's signature, at his own request. He wrote, "I had finally secured their signatures on a contract on January 24 th, 1962, but had not signed it myself. It provided them with safeguards against unemployment, protected them and me against any breach of faith and made the terms of my percentages quite clear.
