For those Long And Winding Roads! Sir Paul McCartney takes his blue Chevy Corvette for a spin in Beverly Hills
If there’s one car the people of California will see Sir Paul McCartney in when he’s hanging out Stateside, it’ll be his blue Chevy Corvette convertible. The legendary rocker always drives around in the classic C5 when on the West Coast, and that was no different on Tuesday when he took it for a spin.
He parked the car outside the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills and judging by the smile on his face, Sir Paul couldn’t wait to get back behind the wheel. The former Beatles member was dressed in casual clothes, opting for trainers and tracksuit bottoms with a white zipped jacket. McCartney has had the convertible since 2005, which was manufactured by the Chevrolet division of General Motors, but the C5 line was discontinued in 2004. Sale prices now range from £17,000 to £30,000. McCartney has announced he will be headlining a concert in Lubbock, Texas in June at the Buddy Holly Center. A fitting stadium for the former Beatles star who credits Buddy Holly and the Crickets for his band’s sound and success. ‘If it wasn't for the Crickets, there wouldn't be any Beatles,’ Sir Paul said in his 1985 documentary, The Real Buddy Holly Story. He also still owns the musical rights to Holly’s back catalogue.
