The original printing plates for John Lennon's first book have sold at auction for £4,800. The metal plates were used to print words and illustrations by the Beatle in the 1964 book John Lennon, In His Own Write. Also A call sheet from A Hard Day's Night signed by all four band members and Victor Spinetti sold for £3,600.

New to the NY Times graphic books hardcover best-seller list this week, at No. 7, is "Baby's In Black," which chronicles the relationship between the artist Astrid Kirchherr and Stuart Sutcliffe, who met in Hamburg during the earliest days of the Beatles. The graphic novel feels authentic, no doubt thanks to the extensive input from Astrid.
To accompany director Martin Scorsese's documentary on George Harrison, "Living in the Material World," Harrison's widow Olivia teamed up with Giles Martin -- son of legendary Beatles producer George Martin -- to curate Early Takes: Volume 1, a complation songs that go hand in hand with the film.
