Paul McCartney spent his second wedding anniversary on Wednesday afternoon performing for around 400 high school students in Queens, New York. The kids at the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts gathered in the school’s Tony Bennett Concert Hall along with Bennett, who founded the school 12 years ago, but had no idea who would be performing.

The show was recorded and filmed, and will be broadcast across the country on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s release of McCartney's latest album, New. It will also be streamed Monday on Yahoo.  Backed by his four-piece band, McCartney took the stage and told the students, “This beats going to class,” before turning in a 13-song set that featured three songs off the new album, eight from The Beatles and two from Wings. In between he spoke with New York radio legend Jim Kerr and took questions from the students. Among the topics discussed were the new album, songwriting, performing, when he knew he had made it as a musician, and the school he founded, the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.
