Pop legend Frank Ifield at Liverpool's Epstein

Experience music history at its best as one of the finest gentlemen of the music world and 60’s icon, Frank Ifield heads to the Epstein Theatre. In an “in conversation” event he narrates his rise to stardom and is joined on stage by a musician and a singer who will perform a selection of great songs from the era.

 Frank came from humble beginnings; singing in Coventry bomb shelters during the war and, after a rollercoaster journey, climbed the ranks of the music industry. Eventually topping the bill at Wembley Stadium and at Royal Command Performances and enjoyed success with four number one singles I Remember You, Lovesick Blues, Wayward Wind and I’m Confessin’. In this special evening, on Wednesday 28th May 2014, Frank will tell the stories behind his rise to fame, what life was like in the heady days of the ‘60s through to the day it all went bad - when he heard he would never sing again. Audiences will laugh with him as he recalls the problems he had with a young support act called The Beatles, cry when hearing how he had the thing he loved the most in life torn away from him and join in with the numbers that made him famous. An event not to be missed by anyone who lived through the ‘60s, with a chance to meet the era’s biggest pop star afterwards as he makes himself available for photographs and autographs.
