Songs After Sandy: Friends of Red Hook for Sandy Relief

Ringo Starr’s website reports that he and Dhani Harrsion’s group, thenewno2, are contributing previously-unreleased tracks to a Hurricane Sandy relief effort, focused on the hard-hit community, Red Hook, in Brooklyn, NY.

"Songs After Sandy: Friends of Red Hook for Sandy Relief" is being sponsored by the not-for-profit group, Green Ground Zero, which was founded to help communities rebuild after disasters. They  also advocate for green restoration which creates a more sustainable environment , to address the root of the problem of global warming.

Friends of Red Hook includes(in alphabetical order): Adam Acuragi, Joseph Arthur, Brendon Benson, Eric Burdon, Ben Folds Five, Ben Harper, Roger Hodgson, Kaiser Cartel, Emmanuel Jal, Matt Lenny, Eli Lieb, Toby Lightman, Jeff Lynne, Joan Osborne, Amanda Palmer, Kenny Wayne Shepherd featuring Buddy Flett, Smitty, Ringo Starr, thenewno2, Bow Thayer, These United States, Joe Walsh, Bob Weir and Jesse Malin, Edgar Winter.  Harper has worked both with Ringo and with Dhani, as part of the trio, Fistful of Mercy.  Of course, Jeff Lynne, Joe Walsh, Roger Hodgson and Edgar Winter are part of the Beatles’ extended “family”.
